Thyroid surgery is performed to treat disorders affecting the thyroid gland, including goiter, thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, and thyroid cancer. The thyroid gland regulates metabolism, energy production, and hormone balance. When abnormalities occur, patients may experience swelling in the neck, difficulty swallowing, hormonal imbalance symptoms, or suspicious nodules requiring evaluation.

Surgical procedures include partial thyroidectomy (removal of part of the gland) or total thyroidectomy (complete removal), depending on the condition.
